By bicycle into retirement
Open end bicycle world trip of Pius and Margrit Jörger
on the streets of Bombay, India, 15 november 2011

In April 2007 we started our open-end trip into retirement! We fulfil our long time dream. The first part took us directly from our house in Vals Switzerland to Japan, often along the legendary Silk Road. We passed through Slovenia, Ukraine, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Jeman, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kirgistan and we wanted to finish this first part of our trip with the Himalayan Tibet Route until Lhasa, which was for political reasons not possible. South East Asia and Southern China was the next part before visiting Japan.
Then biking from Central America down to Patagonia and back up north, through Brazil to Colombia. After over 4 years on the road it was time for Africa. And from November 2011 on, cycling in India will be a new challenge.

We wish you all a good happy new year. After riding via  Goa and Hampi we are traveling with our daughter Tanya and Fabian  into  the mountains (2200m) and from there to Kerala. CyclingSouth India  on small roads is a pleasure, the people are very friendly, the villages interesting   and colorful and the scenery of the country exciting.
